Bath Waterstones - Party In The City

Last week was the multi-venue event Party In The City in Bath where I was invited to come and perform at the Bath Waterstones alongside poets and speakers.

I absolutely love Bath, I think it’s the most beautiful city, so Mat and I were very excited for an excuse to come and visit! My agent Gill is also from Bath and was helping to chair the event so it was great to catch up with her too!

I have to be honest, I was quite disappointed that the event ended up being help upstairs in the cafe rather than downstairs by the bookshelves - not only would downstairs have made for much cooler photos, but I think we would have had much more passing footfall had we been by the open doors!! We did however get a little crowd in the cafe and it was still so much fun to read passages from The Songs You’ve Never Heard before launching into the related songs. I mixed up a set a little bit and decided to sing Maximoo for a change, which was met with lots of chuckles which was lovely!

I also performed my brand new song Misunderstood from an upcoming book that is currently on submission and it was amazing to sing it live for the first time! After the set, I also signed a whole heap of books that are now available in the Bath Waterstones for anyone who would like a copy.

The other poet of the evening was amazing and I had a lovely time exploring Bath over the weekend - performing in a Waterstones is definitely a massive tick off my bucket list and hopefully it won’t be the last time I’ll get to do it! (And hopefully downstairs by the books next time!!) Thanks so much for having me! :)
